The Real-Time Java Project ports the AOCS framework
from C++ to a real-time version of Java. This is the entry point for the
documentation for the framework code generated with the JavaDoc facility.
Understanding of this documentation requires familiarity with the general design
concepts behind the AOCS Framework. A good introduction can be found in: A.
Pasetti, Software Frameworks and Embedded Control System, LNCS Series
Vol. 2231, Springer-Verlag 2001. Familiarity with the RT Java Framework
project in general would also be useful. This can be found in the project
web page.
The class and package documentation sometimes makes reference to documents
that were originally produced for the C++ version of the framework. Readers
should bear in mind that this documentation is not necessarily applicable in its
entirety: during the porting of the framework from C++ to Java, some changes to
the framework architecture were found to be necessary. These changes together
with the general principles applied during the porting exercise are summarized here.
