Real Time Java Project

The aim of this project is to port the AOCS Framework to a real-time version of Java. The AOCS framework is an object-oriented component-based software framework for a satellite Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS). The AOCS Framework was developed in the AOCS Framework Project. This project started in Feb. 2001 with the support of the European Space Agency at ESA-Estec under research contract N. 13776/99/NL/MV (see the disclaimer). A summary report describing the overall goals and results to date of the project can be downloaded from here.

The Real Time Java Project was done jointly by Alessandro Pasetti and Vaclav Cechticky in the group of Prof. Schaufelberger at the Automatic Control Laboratory of ETH-Zurich. Alex Blum as part of his graduation project for ETH also made a contribution.

The contact persons at ESA-Estec for this project are Ton van Overbeek of Estec TOS-ESC and Jean-Loup Terraillon of Estec TOS-EME.
