Project Code And Documentation
The property rights to the code and design of the AOCS framework are vested
in the University of Konstanz. A
public free license is granted to use and modify its code subject to the
restrictions listed in this copyright notice and
disclaimer of responsibility. Note in particular that the code is incomplete
and its standard is that of a university research prototype. It is therefore not
suitable to be deployed in an industrial application.
This web site gives access to the framework code in raw format (as .h and .cpp
files) and to the framework documentation as pdf files. The documents can be
downloaded as one
zip file (about 10 MBytes). This zip files contains the following documents:
- An AOCS Description document that informally describes the domain
at which the framework is targeted
- An AOCS Framework - Concept Level Description Document that
describes the framework as a whole. This document is provided for
information only. It is superceded by the book: A. Pasetti, Software
Frameworks and Embedded Control Systems, Springer Verlag, LNCS, Vol.
2231
- The framework is divided into framelets.
For each framelet, a concept and architectural description document is
provided
- The prototype framework does not implement all the features foreseen in
its architectural design. The document: AOCS Framework – Framework
Prototype Definition gives an overview of the implementation status of
the prototype framework.
- The prototype framework was used to instantiate a prototype AOCS
for testing and demonstration purposes. Its functionalities are described in
the document: AOCS Framework – AOCS Prototype Definition.
- The framework instantiation process is described in the document: AOCS
Framework – Framework Instantiation.
- The results of the tests performed on the AOCS prototype are described in
the document: AOCS Framework – AOCS Prototype Test Report.
- Selected implementation aspects of the AOCS framework are described in
document: AOCS Framework – Implementation Notes.
The design methodology followed in the AOCS Framework project is described in
the book: A. Pasetti, Software Frameworks and Embedded Control Systems, Springer
Verlag, LNCS, Vol. 2231. This book also gives an overview of the framework
architecture.
The AOCS framework was first developed under the Visual Studio (VS)
environment and then ported to a Unix workstation for integration with the ERC32
simulator. The VS files can be unpacked from this zip
file. The ERC32 files are contained in this zip
file.
